CartSoft
Technical Specifications
CartSoft makes
use of time tested software design principles in the development
of it's software suite of products. Design, development and implementation
of the software products always keeps the end user in focus, both
from the standpoint of ease of use and adding functionality that
makes various processes easier with a quick turn around. These technical
specifications discusses various options related to software packages,
licensing, database and interfaces.
LICENSING/CONFIGURATION
OPTIONS
Recommended
licensing & configuration options include :
Single User
License : STAND ALONE - This option is recommended for desktop
or laptop users who work independently. Data entered by the users
cannot be shared and use is limited to one concurrent user. Both
the database and the software application are installed on the stand
alone machine.
Multi User
License :
1. NETWORK OPTION 1 - This option is recommended for a user group
who would like to share data. For slower network and server configuration
the software application will be installed on the desktop or laptop
and the database will be installed on the server .
2. NETWORK OPTION 2 - This option is also recommended for a user
group who would like to share data. For faster network and server
configuration the software application and the database will be
installed on the server .
HL7 Interface
:
Admitting patient information gets updated automatically. This makes
the process of delivering patient care and tracking patient progress
easier and keeps the user focused on their core functions.
DATABASE
OPTIONS
All CARTSOFT
applications support both ACCESS and ORACLE databases. Most configurations
can be run efficiently using an ACCESS database. This has advantages
related to cost and lesser maintenance. ORACLE is suggested for
enterprise configurations where there is a very large user base
and where ORACLE database server is used in the hospital. Cost and
maintenance are factors that need to be considered.
Automated
Maintenance of repositories :
The database will be always current with the information related
to the doctors and insurance plans supported by the hospital system.
Medical Records
Interface :
At the hospital's option, patient information containing the daily
ORG descriptions can be transferred to the electronic medical record.
As an alternative, hospitals may record daily status in a separate
file for review by diagnosis, nursing unit, payor type or attending
physician.
